As an archivist and curator, Andrew has piloted remasters and reissues of “deep cut” recordings by The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, The Kinks, Del Shannon, and many other notables, and they were all grateful for the fresh interest generated by Andrew’s efforts. At some point I discovered Andrew’s original music, recordings of carefully crafted pop that initially reminded me of Jellyfish and The Left Banke. He also helms a radio show, COME TO THE SUNSHINE, focusing on “sunshine pop,” that special meld of flower powered baroque chamber pop, bubblegum, folk rock, garage rock, power pop, and psychedelia rooted in 60s innovation and timeless ear candies. ...Okay, Clickbait-Titel beiseite, ich muss einfach einen Post hierzu machen, weil ich bisher auf dem deutschsprachigen tumblr bisher noch nie jemanden darüber hab reden hören. Vor einer Weile hat @bruneburg​ mir und einigen anderen Leuten auf dem Discord-Server, auf dem wir beide sind, eine absolut faszinierende Fanfic vorgestellt:

Die Träne des Drachen, eine A Song of Ice and Fire/Das Lied von Eis und Feuer/Game of Thrones Fanfic. Ein über 40 Kapitel langer (scheinbar) noch laufender Epos, eine Abenteuer-Romanze zwischen unserer wunderbaren Protagonistin, Leah Dragontear und Jon Snow. Die Kurzzusammenfassung liest sich wie folgt:

Leah ist die letzte Überlebende ihres Hauses. Die Umstände bringen sie zuerst nach Winterfell und über die Mauer nach Königsmund und dann nach Rosengarten, aber lest selbst. (mit sexszenen!!1)

Falls nach dieser Zusammenfassung Unsicherheit besteht, ob das ganze ernst gemeint ist - ich habe keine Ahnung, und auch niemand sonst mit dem ich darüber geredet habe hat eine Ahnung.

Aber nun, erstmal einige Highlights aus diversen Kapiteln, die ich unter nen Read More stelle, damit eure Dashboards nicht zu sehr davon eingenommen werden.

Und ich bitte euch. Egal ob ihr Game of Thrones kennt oder nicht, wenn ihr je über so etwas wie My Immortal gelacht habt: Nehmt euch ein paar Minuten um die Beispiele hier zu lesen! Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.

Aus Kapitel 1:

Hey ich bin Leah Dragontear und ich bin gerade in Winterfell. Ich bin hier weil ich die letzter überlebende von meinem haus bin und Ned mich adoptiert hatte, als meine Eltern gegen den König gekämpft haben. Ich komme von der anderen Seite vom Meer und da ist es wärmer als hier. Es schneit gerade aber mir ist nicht kalt weil ich bin ja warm angezogen. Ich war gekleidet in meinen warmen Pelzmantel, den mir Ned geschenkt hatte, als ich meinen 14. Geburtstag gefeiert habe (Das war letztes Jahr gewesen, ich bin gerade 15). [...] Meine Hose war aus Leder, Caitlyn hatte zwar gesagt ich soll ein Kleid tragen aber das trug ich nur, wenn ich nicht ausreiten wollte (Außerdem behinderte es mich beim kämpfen xD) [...] Ich habe Rot-Violette Augen, die manchen Menschen angst machen, deswegen hatte ich nicht viele Freunde in meiner Heimat. "Leah", rief jemand von hinten. Ich drehte mich um es war Jon, er war der Bastard von Ned Stark und genau so alt wie ich und er lächelte breit aber er guckte auch besorgt. "Was machst du denn hier draußen du wirst noch krank Caitlyn hat es nicht so gemeint bitte komm wieder rein." Ich schüttelte den kopf und wieder hatte ich Tränen in den Augen. "Sie hat es so gemeint und du weißt es !", schrie ich laut und jemand guckte aus dem Fenster zu uns. "Sie hasst mich ! Und dich hasst sie auch ! Und ich hasse sie !" Jon legte mir einen Arm um den Hals un drückte mich an sich, er hatte immer noch das lächeln um gesicht. ich wollte Ihn von mir wegstoßen aber trotzdem drückte ich mich fest an ihn. Er war so Warm !

Hey giirls, diesmal ein ziemlich actiongeladenes Kapitel, ich hoffe es gefällt euch LG franziii "LEAH DRAGONTEAR, ICH BRING DICH UM DU SCHLAMPE!!!!!!!!", schrie [Catelyn] und stapfte breitbeinig auf mich zu. "Man, wieso denn?", fragte ich. [...] Ich riss einer Wache ihre Armbrust aus der Hand und schoss 3 Bolzen hintereinander auf Catelyn, doch sie sprang von Bolzen zu Bolzen auf mich zu und ich musste einem weiteren Schlag ausweichen. "Catelyn, bitte lass das", sagte Ned geduldig, doch er war sehr schockiert über die offenbarung mit Bran und so mischte er sich nicht ein. "Erst wenn die Schlampe tot ist. Mach mit Ned", schrie Catelyn.Ned ergriff ein schwert doch Jon stellte sich ihm in den Weg. [...] Ich wich ihnen aus und versuchte Catelyn mit meiner Geschwindigkeit zu verwirren. Doch Catelyn wurde auch schneller und so wirbelten wir wie ein Tornado durch den Thronsaal. Die Menge spritzte vor uns davon wie Wasser vor einem Schiff. Schnell wie ein Blitz kickte ich Catelyn den Morgenstern aus der Hand, worauf sie anfing hysterisch zu kreischen. Sie packte einen Felsen , der auf dem Boden lag und schleuderte ihn nach mir. Ich hob meine Hand und der Fels zerschellte an meiner Faust. Das hatte ich bei einem Kampfsporttrip in den Bergen gelernt. Doch Catelyn grinste nur diabloisch und ich sah, dass Sie den Morgenstern wieder aufgehoben hatte und der jetzt auf mich zuflog. Ich wich aus, fing den Morgenstern in der Luft, machte einen Backflip und schoss ihn zurück. Er traff Catelyn im überraschten gesicht und ein Knacken schallte durch den Saal. Doch Catelyn war nciht besiegt, sie krabbelte wie eine Spinne an der Wand empor und schoß von dort Bolzen aus ihrem Streithammer, der auch eine Armbrust war, auf mich herab. Ich wich aus, nahm einer Wache ihr Schwert ab und rannte damit an der Wand entlang auf Catelyn zu. Catelyn brüllte auf und der Hammer sauste wieder auf mich zu. Ich fing ihn auf und warf ihn zu Jon. Catelyn war nun entwaffnet und sah mich zornig an. Ihr Gesicht glich einer blutigen Matsche. "Diesmal magst du mich besiegt haben aber ich werde wiederkommen", schrie sie und entkam durchs Fenster. Ich blickte ihr düster nach, und kletterte die Wand des Saals, der nun in Schutt und Asche lag wieder hinab.

Aus Kapitel 17:

Heyy Leute, Ich hab dieses Kapitel einiges geändert, da ja viel Kritik da war. Ich benutze ab jetzt ein Online Rechtschreibprogramm und habe mich dazu entschlossen die Smileys wegzulassen und zu versuchen euch die Stimmung so zu zeigen  :)  Außerdem hab ich lustige Zusätze in Klammern geschrieben einfach weil ich noch einmal etwas Spaß in die Geschichte bringen wollte bevor es nächstes Kapitel mit Jons schrecklichem Schicksal losgeht. Seht das Kapitel hier also eher als eine Filler-Episode, wo ein bisschen rumgeblödelt wird, bevor es dann wirklich losgeht :) Ich hoffe ihr findet das Kapitel lustig, wenn nicht ignoriert es einfach, es ist wie gesagt eine rumblödelei vor dem Sturm, der im nächsten Kapitel aufkommen wird... Danke für die Aufklärung mit Inzest ich wusste das echt nicht... o.o Ich habe wieder einen Catelynkampf eingebaut weil der das letzte Mal so gut ankam :) Aja und SPOILER!!!!!!!!! Margaery stirbt in diesem Kapitel (Ich mag Sie nicht und es hat mir Spaß gemacht sie loszuwerden :3) aber Sie kommt später wieder vor und sie wird gefährlich sein SPOILER ENDE!!! VIEL SPAß!!!!!!!!!

Robert aß für zehn während unserer Reise. Er aß sogar Gras, weil ihm unser Proviant nicht gut genug war und Jon und ich mussten hungern und heimlich essen. Es war nicht schlimm, wir hungerten gerne wenn es dem Reiche diente. Die Reise war lang wie Jon bestes Stück aber nicht so angenehm und wir hatten viele Schwierigkeiten. Robert wohnte in seiner Kutsche und hinter der Kutsche fuhr die Kutsche von Margaery die leider auch nach Königsmund mitkam. Ab und zu kreischte sie, wenn Kniffel in ihre Nähe kam und weinte hysterisch, aber ich hatte mittlerweile etwas Mitleid und pfiff Kniffel zurück, wenn er ihr zu Nahe war. Trotzdem hatte ich den Blick nicht vergessen, den Jon ihr zugeworfen hatte und deshalb versteckte ich manchmal Maden in Ihrem Obst, ein alter Trick den wir auf Winterfell immer mit Sansa gemacht hatten. Robert pupste die ganze Zeit und deshalb stank es immer nach Furz, wenn wir unterwegs waren und das war nicht sehr schön. Olenna kam manchmal vorbei, und sie fragte uns wie lange es noch sei aber wir wussten es nicht. Ich glaube zwischen Robert und Olenna läuft etwas, denn sie tranken oft zusammen Bier. (Einmal kam ich in die Kutsche und sah, wie Olenna nackt vor Robert tanzte während er furzteIhre Brüste hatte sie sich hinter die Schultern geworfen, damit sie ihr nicht im Weg waren. Einmal wickelte Sie Robert und sich in Ihre Falte ein und dann waren Sie verschwunden und wir suchten einen Tag nach ihnen. [...] Nach einiger Zeit kamen wir in einem Dorf an, wo man uns jubelnd in Empfang nahm. Margaery wollte nicht mit den Bauern reden, weil die eklig waren und deshalb musste Margaery draußen schlafen. In einer Nacht wurde sie abgestochen. Wir versteckten ihre Leiche im Kofferraum von Roberts Kutsche. Am nächsten Morgen fuhren wir weiter. DANN WAREN WIR DA! Auf einem Dach stand Catelyn und ihr Mantel wehte im Wind des Schicksals. Sie hatte eine Wurfaxt in ihrer Hand und zielte auf meinen Kopf. Dann schoss sie ab. Ich machte einen Backflip und die Axt traf Margaery Leiche im Gesicht. [...] Ich zog ein Kunai aus meiner Hosentasche und schlitzte sie damit im Gesicht auf. Doch das machte Catelyn nur wütender und sie biss in meine Hand. Ich ließ den kunai fallen kickte ihn aber mit meinem Fuß in Catelyns Magengrube. Blut schoss aus ihrem Mund und traf mich am Hals. Es hatte eine ätzende Wirkung und etwas Haut löste sich. Ich nahm das Stück haut und rieb es Catelyn ins Gesicht worauf Sie angeekelt wegging. Ich hatte wieder gewonnen!!!

Aus Kapitel 21:

Heyy Leute, da sich viele gewünscht haben, dass Leah auch mal Schwäche zeigt, habe ich ihr ein paar gegeben. Ich habe sie etwas tollpatschiger gemacht und sie wird hart arbeiten!! Wie findet ihr sie jetzt? <3 Viel Spaß!

Es war ein langer Weg nach Braavos, doch dank Kniffels schneller Geschwindigkeit waren wir nach einigen Stunden da. Baavos war eine große,schöne Stadt am Meer und überall waren Händler und es gefiel mir gut. Hier konnte man bestimmt gut shoppen gehen. Überall waren ein paar Kanäle in denen die Kinder schwamen und ich sah ihnen interessiert zu, denn ich war noch nie schwimmen gewesen, weil ich ja im Norden aufgewachsen bin und das Wasser da so kalt war. [...] Ich nickte und folgte ihm neugierig. Dabei stolperte ich einmal, fiel nach vorne auf ihn drauf, wollte mich an seiner Kutte festhalten und zog sie unabsichtlich mit mir nach unten, worauf sich der Bierbauch des alten Mannes entblöste. "Hupsi", sagte er. "Wenn du das nochmal machst, töte ich dich" Dann ging er einfach weiter. Ich folgte peinlich berührt, seine Kutte noch immer in der Hand. Ich wagte es nicht meinen Blick nach unterhalb seines Bauches zu senken. Aber er schwenke aufreizend mit den Hüften und so wanderte mein Blink doch nach unten und was ich sah faszinierte mich. Doch dazu mehr, in einem anderen Kapitel. [...] Ich sah mir die Leichen genauer an und ich sah, dass es alle Leute waren die ich kannte!! Arya und Robb und Rickon und Sansa und Ned und und und.... JON!!! WIE WAR DAS MÖGLICH??? JON WAR DOCH WIEDER AN DER MAUER?!?? Ich kreischte. "AHHHHHRGHHHAHHHHH!!!", machte ich und der Mann kicherte. [...] Trotzdem war ich wie erstarrt und sah auf den Berg Leichen vor mir. Ich atmete tief ein. Dann zog ich Jon aus dem Haufen und fing an ihn zu reinigen.Der Mann gab mir ein Einweg-Tuch zum wegschmeißen und ich nahm es dankbar an. "♫ Schrubb, Schrubb, Schrubbedi Dubb ♪", sang ich vor mich hin. "So ist gut Leah", sagte der Mann und wippte im Tackt "Schrubb die Leiche". [...] Am nächsten Tag sollte ich wieder die Putzfrau spielen. Der Alte sagte, wenn man nicht gut putzen kann, kann mach auch nicht gut kämpfen.In jedem guten Krieger stecke auch eine Putzfrau.

Aus Kapitel 22:

Hey Leute :) Hier ist das nächste Kapitel und heute wird sich zeigen ob Leah ein Gesichtsloser werden kann oder vom alten Mann umgebracht wird, seid gespannt :) Ich habe mich dieses Kapitel einmal bemüht ungewöhnliche und altertümliche Namen zu benutzen weil manche in meinen vorigen Kapiteln meinten, das die Namen nicht angebracht wären. Viel Spaß beim Lesen :)

[...] "Dein Ziel ist ein Hafenarbeiter Namens Seppel und er hat uns erzürnt. Du wirst ihn unserem Gott opfern. Wie überlasse ich dir, aber es darf kein Verdacht auf uns fallen, wenn du ihn ermordest und es kein Aufesehen gibt, wirst du offiziell zu einem Gesichtslosen Mann. Wenn allerdings die Leute Verdacht haben das wir dahinter stecken, werde ich dich töten" Ich wollte ihm widersprechen, ich sei eine Frau doch er las meine Gedanken und klatschte mir eine. Ich hatte Tränen in den Augen. Ich atmete tief ein und nickte. Ein Name war fast genauso eine gute Maske wie eine Maske also nannte ich mich Maurice aus dem Hause Graussoun. Dann ging ich zum Hafen. Mein Opfer war ein riesiger, muskulöser Arbeiter. Ich würde ihn nicht im Kampf besiegen können, ich musste mir etwas anderes einfallen lassen. Seppel sah gefährlich aus, er sah stark aus, er war ein Bär von einem Mann. "SEPPEEEEL!!! DU HAST DIE WAREN NICHT AUSGERÄUMT!!!!", kreischte eine kleine Frau, welche angerannt kam und ihm am Arm packte. "ROSALINDE!!! RÄUM IHN SELBER AUS!!!" "DU BIST DRAN, WIESO HAB ICH SO EINEN NICHTSNUTZ WIE DICH GEHEIRATET!!!!!" "DU BIST ZU HÄSSLICH FÜR JEMAND ANDEREN" Ich lächelte. Ich könnte Seppel ermorden und alle würden denken, dass seine Frau ihn getötet hätte, so würde niemand die Gesichtslosen verdächtigen, doch wie solte ich ihn töten? Plötzlich sah ich eine Fliege. Das erinnerte mich an Jon, an sein Blut und die Magie des Nordens die nun in mir schlief. Ich übernahm die Kontrolle über die Fliege, tunkte sie in das vergiftete Wasser, was mir der gütige alte Mann aus dem Brunnen gegeben hatte und flog so in den Mund von Seppel. "JAHNIUDHNKDA", machte Seppel und griff sich an die Kehle. Blut spritze aus seinen Augen, seiner Nase und seinen Ohren. Eine Blutfontäne spritze aus seinem Mund auf Rosalinde, welche laut kreischte. "He da", rief ein anderer Hafenarbeiter, dann sah er das Blut und die Spritzer auf Rosalinde und er schrie und ein Polizist kam angerannt. "Rosalinde McBiggi, sie sind verhaftet", sagte ein Polizist und hatte eine Armbrust auf sie gerichtet, dann nahm er Rosalinde fest. Seppel lag mittlerweile tot im Meer, doch niemand kümmerte sich um ihn.

Aus Kapitel 27:

Hallo Freunde, in diesem Kapitel gibt's eine kleine Rückblende als lustiges Extra, ansonsten ist es wieder ernst. P18 eben. SPOILER!!!!! Menschen sterben eben und ja. Viel Spaaaß <3

[...] Ich benötigte Gift und erinnerte mich an die kleine Glasphiole die ich aus Winterfell mitgebracht hatte. Es enthielt eine winzige Portion des Gifts das ich Catelyns Giftfroschsammlung abgemolken hatte, die sie aus dem Urwald Essos' hatte. Dieses mischte ich mit einer einzigen Träne von mir. Damit hatte ich die Träne von Lys, das stärkste und heftigste und tödlichste, schmerzhafteste und beste Gift ALLER ZEITEN in ganz Westeros. [...] Armory machte die Tür auf, lief ein paar Schritte und dann starb er. Blut rann ihm aus den Augen, der Nase und den Ohren. Tywin sah entgeistert auf die Leiche in seinem Zimmer. "PESTI!!!!!! KOMMEN SIE SOFORT HER, HIER IST NOCH ETWAS ARBEIT!!!" Sofort kam Pesti angerannt und kehrte seine Leiche in den Mülleimer. Dann verbeugte sie sich und ging wieder in den Hof ihren Putzarm trainieren. Sie war aus Königsmund geflohen, weil sie nicht Besen sagen durfte und jetzt lebte sie bei Tywin. Alles dank Joffrey. Dann kam Arya angerannt. Sie stolperte über einen abgebrochenen Finger, stand wieder auf und rannte weiter zu mir. Abgebrochene, abgetrennte Gliedmaßen lagen hier überall herum. "Danke Jaqen, danke danke danke!!!!" sagte sie und küsste mich....................................auf den Mund. "UWAH UWA UWA UUUHHHH", machte ich schockiert. Fast riss ich ihr die Nase ab vor Schreck, doch ich konnte mich noch zurück halten. Puh. Knapper als knapp. Sie hätte ich mich an diesem Kampfmove bestimmt erkannt, den wir beide bei der olden Nan gelernt hatten.

Kleine, lustige Anekdote aus Leahs Vergangenheit in Winterfell (NICHT LESEN, WENN IHR KEINEN SPAß VERSTEHT!!!): Arya hatte selbst einmal eine Nase abgerissen, als sie 7 Jahre alt war und zwar als Tom-Knut aus dem Hause R��tsel-Knack, der Putzmeister, sie erschrocken hatte. Danach roch es nie wieder so gut wie vorher in Winterfell. Nur er hatte die geheime Tinktur der Zitronenputzerei gekannt. Erst 2 Jahre Später hatten wir herausgefunden, dass er außerdem Oldnans Darmsepzialist war. Er war der Grund warum sie mit 90 immer noch so aussah wie mit 88. "Einen gesunden Darm sieht man",pflegte sie immer zu sagen. Und man sah ihn. Ned hatte sie immer deswegen vertäufelt, aber er sah auch sehr alt für sein Alter aus und er hatte immer Darmprobleme. Immer. Man konnte nie aufs Plumpsklo gehen, wenn er davor drauf war. Er nannte seine Darmprobleme auch "Winter" und immer wenn er auf dem Plumsklo saß, rief er "WINTER IS COMING!!!!" und wenn er kurz davor war aufs Klo zu gehen rief er "DER WINTER NAHT!!!!" und da wussten wir, dass wir in den Wolfswald gehen mussten oder starben.

Als es dunkel wurde ging ich zur Mauer und da standen 2 Lennister Soldaten. "Heil dir Freund Gurguwatz", sagte der eine dann spießte ich ihn auf und hängte seine Leiche über das Tor. Der Andere Lennister Soldat wollte schreien doch ich schrie einfach lauter, so dass niemand seinen Schrei hören konnte. Dann tötete ich ihn auf und hing seine Leiche neben die erste so das Arya entspannt rausgehen konnte...!!!!!                            

Aus Kapitel 35:

Dann waren wir beim roten Bergfried und die Wache fragte uns "Hey, wart ihr nicht schonmal hier? Ich erkenne euer Gesicht." "Wir haben jetzt keine Zeit, Ich muss zu Joffrey, die Nachtwache hat mich angezeigt wegen Mord und Flucht!!" "Okay hier lang", nickte der Wachmann und stolzierte vorraus. Er führte uns zu Joffrey und zeigte uns unterwegs hier und da eine Sehenswürdigkeit. Eigentlich war die Wache sehr nett, sie stellte sich uns mit Koko McKokatio vor und wir nickten. Joffrey saß hoch oben auf dem eisernen Thron und vor dem Thron lag die ausgestopfte Leiche von König Robert als Fußabtreter. "Hehe sie ist wieder hier um zu betteln." keifte Jofferey und riss ein Schwert aus dem eisernen Thron. "Ich werde dich töten, Leah Dragontear und Jon auch." Apokalypta knurrte ihn an und Geist rief "Haltet ein" "Nein Joffrey, ich bin hier um vors heilige Gericht zu treten!!!!! Ich habe gemordet und war auf der Flucht, also eigentlich war icht nicht auf der Flucht, aber die Anklage lautete so, wenn du verstehst was ich meine", erklärte ich ruhig und setzte mich hin. [...] Der Berg hüpfte in die Luft und als er wieder aufprallte, gab es ein kleines Erdbeben was mich aus dem Gleichgewicht bringen sollte, doch ich konterte das geschickt, indem ich in die Luft sprang und mir das Erdbeben nichts anhaben konnte."Grrrr", machte der Berg und das Puplikum atmete schockiert ein. Joffrey kaute unruhig an seinen Fingernägeln. Ich nahm den Ast in beide Hände und rammte ihn in den Boden, dann kletterte ich an ihm hoch bis ich höher war als der Berg. Von dort oben hatte ich eine gute Aussicht. Ich konzentrierte mich und rief "Apokalypte, näher dich mir." Apokalypta kam angerannt und würgte und spieh mir die Prinzessin des Todes vor die Füße. Tosender Applaus. Ich nahm sie und hob sie gegen den Berg und blockte damit einen Angriff von seinem Kriegshammer der die Luft vibrieren ließ. Beifall. Dann stach ich zu und schlitze den Berg von oben bis unten auf.Sofort quoll sein Darm, seine Innerein und sein Herz raus und fiel auf den Boden. Er lebte dennoch weiter. "LISA GIB MIR MEINEN HIRSCHJÄGER", donnerte der Berg und eine Knappin gab ihm eine Lanze und er warf sie auf mich doch ich sprange hoch, rannte über die fliegende Lanze auf Ihn zu und schlitzte seinen Bach auf doch aus seinem Bacuh kroch Sandor Clegan und sagte "Du tötest nicht meinen Bruder denn ich bin sein Bruder", und er schwang sein Schwert gegen mich doch ich blockte es ab und Spaltete Sandor von oben bis unten doch in der Zeit hatte sich der Berg wieder erholt denn Qyburn hatte ihn wiederbelebt. "Was ist das für schwarze Magie??", rief Joffrey und klatschte begeistert. Ich begann wieder meinen Kriegsgesang zu schmettern wärend ich die Axt von einer Wache nahm und schwang sie farbenwind der Sonne. "Lalalakalololo, Das Hirn, es spritzt so wie der Wind und nun spalte den Berg, mein tödliches Kind. Du landest hier und gleich gehört dir alles, Doch ich bin hier, bin frei und auch kein Hooolz, doch jedes Schwert, jeder Hammer, jeder Bogen; hat seine Geschichte, seine Bestimmung, seinen Stoooolz", sang ich auf einer Geheimsprache und alle lauschten empört und tuschelten. Der Berg starb mit einem gellenden Schrei und Tyrion rief: "Leah ist unschuldigt, feiert ein Fest!!!" Doch nicht alle waren in Partylaune.... Joffrey starrte mich nur an und ich starrte zurück. Er hatte Ned getötet und niemand tötete meine Familie und kam ungestraft davon, ich würde ihn töten, ich schwor es mir!                            

Aus Kapitel 40:

Die Leichen um mich herum standen schräg da und grinsten mich an. Scorpion Krustenknack und sein geschmolzenes Gesicht lachten hähnisch. Ich seufzte genervt. Toll, was soll das jetzt?! Wütend warf ich Krustenknack meine Axt ins Herz, aber er lachte nur und es machte ihm nichts "Hahimbaha". "Scheiße..!!", dachte ich mir und beobachtete Cersei die schwitzte nervös. Kniffel brach durch das Tor und verbrannte fast alle Toten, die wieder auferstanden waren, Tywin konnte entkommen und rannte weg in die Nacht. "Ey Kniffel, gutes Timing!!", grinste ich und sprang auf ihn. [...] Plötzlich öffnete sich eine tür in der Ecke vom Thronsaal und eine Wache kam reingerannt. Sie riss sich den Helm ab und eine helle Haarpracht kam zum Vorschein, zusammen mit hellem Töhh und tollen Wangenknochen. Es war....nein oder...... ein weißer Wanderer!?! "Nicht doch", dachte ich verzweifelt. "Hallo, ich bin der Bergfred", sagte er. Sie hatten sich also  schon in Königsmund eingeschlichen und betrieben Spionage und Diebstahl hier. Der angriff auf unsere Welt konnte nicht mehr lange auf sich warten lassen. ich musste Cersei so schnell wie möglich besiegen und dann alle in  den Norden versammeln, denn da waren unsere Feinde. Der Weiße Wanderer lachte schallend. "Mein Meister der Nachtkönig, erster seines Namens schickt mich, du musst leider sterben oder du schließt dich uns an aber dafür musst du auch sterben hehe" und schoß mit einer Armbrust auf mich. Ich tauchte darunter hinweg, wie ein Fisch, rannte durch die Halle und spaltete den weißen Wanderer mit einem Handkantenschlag. Doch tot war er nicht. Von seinem Körper schälte sich ein Teil ab, wie Käse, aber er lachte nur hähnisch. "Nanana, so nicht", sagte er vergnügt "aber so leicht besiegst du uns nicht, wir sind die Winter und den Winter kannst du nicht töten." . Ich überlegte. WIe hatte ich den letzten Wanderer getötet hatte. Drachenglas? hier war aber keins!!! Moment... "TYWIN!!!", rief ich Tywin zu, welcher sich hinter einem Baum versteckt hatte und dort hockte aber man sah die hälfte seines Körpers. Bedrückt kam er hinter dem Baum hervor. "..Ja..?", sagte er enttäuscht von sich selbst. "Hast du ein valyrisches Stahlschwert oder sowas?", fragte ich. Er deutete auf den Schwertständer und ritt auf seinem wiederbelebten löwen grimmig davon.

Melissandre hatte gehört und warf mir das Schwert zu. "Die Nacht ist schwarz und voller Schrecken", flüsterte sie. Ich packte das Schwert und grinstre den Wanderer an. Dieser grinste zurück und holte einen EIsspeer aus seinem Ärmel. "Letsss go", sagte ich und rannte auf ihn zu. Doch er war blitzschnell und packte mich am Hals. Langsam fingen meine zappelndenGliedmaßen an zu frieren, aber ich riss mich raus und hackte mit dem Schwert auf ihn ein. Er parrierte alles und lachte, er hatte die Zeit seines Lebens. Ich schrie verzweifelt. "WER BIST DUUU?" "Einst nannte man mich Gustav von Kliesning, alias Bergfred, doch nun bin ich namenlos" Ich nickte verständnisvoll. Er hatte es auch nicht Leicht im Leben oder im tot. "Das muss schwer sein" Gustav nickte und setzte sich kurz auf einen Stein. Er seufzte und ich legte ihm eine Hand auf die Schulter. "Nana, das wird schon" Dankbar lächelte er mir zu. "Weißt du Weib, ich habs Satt ein weißer Wanderer zu sein,mein Name ist GUSTAV und ich werde mich nicht mehr hinter dem Nachtkönig verstecken!!! AB jetzt fange ich an zu LEBEN!!!" Alle klatschten und ich freute mich für ihn. Man musste nicht immer alle töten, manchmal reichte auch ein gutes Gespräch. "Leah versammle deine Leute in Winterfell, wir treffen uns dort, ich warte", sagte er und lief so schnell davon, wie ich noch nie jemanden laufen hab sehen. Wahnsinns Typ dieser Gustav, dachte ich mir glücklich. Ich war nun sozusagen mit einem weißen Wanderer befreundet, ich hoffe die anderen werden das akzeptieren.... 

[...] Meine Chance!!! Ich stach zu um Cerseis Herz zu durchboren doch Jamie blockte ab und so schlitzte ich nur Cerseis Brust auf und Milch tropfte heraus.

"Leah", hörte ich, ich drehte mich um und da kam ER in begleitung von Buddhi dem Kerkermeister. "JON", rief ich glücklich und rannte auf ihn zu doch Jon schob mich beiseite und ging auf Tommen zu. In Jons Augen loderte die Mordlüst eines Killers. "Buddhi hat mir alles erzählt als ich im Kerker saß", sagte Jon und zog sein Schwert. "Er hat mir erzählt was Tommen und du im Kerker getan habt..." Tommen wischte seine Tränen weg und stand auf. "Nun so sei es, Jon Snow, Bastard von Winterfell, so sei es...."

This poem object is one of an edition of about twenty (although originally advertised as fifty) published by the New York Surrealist magazine VVV where Breton acted as joint literary adviser with Max Ernst. The poem object was sold as part of a portfolio of eleven original works; etchings, frottage and objects by André Breton, Alexander Calder, Leonora Carrington, Marc Chagall, Max Ernst, David Hare, André Masson, Matta, Robert Motherwell, Kurt Seligmann and Yves Tanguy. The portfolio was intended to raise money for further numbers of VVV. According to a letter to the Tate from John Armbruster, the previous owner, each one of the poem objects was individually assembled by Breton who used different coloured papers and slightly varied the composition.

André Breton began making poem objects in 1929 and in the same year defined the procedure as: "Combining the resources of poetry and sculpture and in speculating on their reciprocal powers of exaltation (Jose Pierre (ed.), Dictionary of Surrealism, 1974)." Breton explains his method of composition for a poem object in an essay of 1942 included in André Breton, Surrealism and Painting, London, 1972, pp.284–5.

SCREEN DIRECTOR’S PLAYHOUSE: MISS GRANT TAKES RICHMOND

May 19, 1950

Screen Directors Playhouse was a radio anthology series which brought leading Hollywood actors to the NBC microphones beginning in 1949. The radio program broadcast adaptations of films, and original directors of the films were sometimes involved, although their participation was usually limited to introducing the radio adaptations, and a brief “curtain call” with the cast and host at the end of the program. The series later had a brief run on television. The radio version ran for 122 episodes and aired on NBC from January 9, 1949 to September 28, 1951 under several different titles: NBC Theater, Screen Director’s Guild Assignment, Screen Director’s Assignment and, as of July 1, 1949, Screen Director’s Playhouse.

This radio adaptation of “Miss Grant Takes Richmond” stars Lucille Ball in her original film role of Ellen Grant. It was directed by Bill Cairn, produced by Howard Wiley. Composer and conductor was Robert Armbruster. The script was adapted by Richard Allen Simmons. It aired on NBC radio on May 19, 1950. On February 22, 1951, "The Screen Guild Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie with William Holden reprising his film role.

Miss Grant Takes Richmond is a 1949 comedy film starring Lucille Ball and William Holden, directed by Lloyd Bacon and released by Columbia Pictures. It was released under the title Innocence is Bliss in the UK.  Rita Hayworth was going to star in the movie, but Hayworth requested script revisions, and went on suspension to avoid making it. 

Synopsis ~ An inept secretary goes to work for a bogus real estate firm thinking it's for real.

Note: The title is a pun on the historical fact that General Ulysses S. Grant ‘took back’ the city of Richmond, Virginia, from the Confederacy, who used it as their capital during the Civil War (April 1865). 

CAST

Lucille Ball (Ellen Grant) previously appeared on Screen Directors Playhouse in “Her Husband’s Affairs” (May 22, 1949), a film she had also appeared in on screen. She will return for “A Foreign Affair” (March 1, 1951) in the role originated by Jean Arthur, and “Bachelor Mother” (March 8, 1951), taking the role originated by her friend Ginger Rogers.  Miss Grant (1949) was Ball’s 72nd motion picture. 

Lucille Ball repeats her film role of Ellen Grant. 

Steve Dunne (Dick Richmond) replaced Howard Duff as the voice of the famous private eye in "The Adventures of Sam Spade," the 1946-1951 radio series. 

Dunne was in the film version, but he played the minor role of Ralph Winton.

Arthur Q. Bryan (Judge Ben Grant, Ellen’s Uncle) had appeared with Lucille Ball in Look Who’s Laughing (1941). He is best remembered as the original voice of Elmer Fudd in the Warner Brothers cartoons. He played Mr. Chambers, new owner of the Tropicana in “Ricky Loses His Voice” (ILL S2;E9) in 1952.

On screen, the role was played by George Cleveland. 

Frank Nelson (Mr. Woodruff) was born on May 6, 1911 (three months before Lucille Ball) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He started working as a radio announcer at the age of 15. He later appeared on such popular radio shows as “The Great Gildersleeve,” “Burns and Allen,” “Fibber McGee & Molly”. and a dozen episodes of Lucille Ball’s “My Favorite Husband.”  On “I Love Lucy” he holds the distinction of being the only actor to play two recurring roles: Freddie Fillmore and Ralph Ramsey, as well as six one-off characters, including the frazzled train conductor in “The Great Train Robbery” (ILL S5;E5), a character he repeated on “The Lucy Show.”  Aside from Lucille Ball, Nelson is perhaps most associated with Jack Benny and was a fifteen-year regular on his radio and television programs, often playing store clerks like this one.

On screen, the role was played by Charles Lane, one of the few character actors that appeared as frequently as Nelson with Lucille Ball. 

Herb Vigran (Mr. Kilcoyne) occasionally turned up on Lucille Ball’s radio show, “My Favorite Husband” (1948-50) in various roles. He appeared on “I Love Lucy” as Jule, Ricky’s music agent, in “The Saxophone” (ILL S2;E2) and “The Anniversary Present” (ILL S2;E3). He also played Mrs. Trumbull’s nephew Joe in “Never Do Business With Friends” (ILL S2;E31) and Al Sparks in “Lucy is Envious” (ILL S3;E23). He went on to appear on select episodes of “The Lucy Show” and Here’s Lucy.”

On screen, the role was played by Frank McHugh. 

Jean Bates (Peggy Donato) was a model before becoming an actress, doing radio, TV and film.  She worked from 1943 to 2001. 

Norman Field was one of at least six actors to play Judge Hunter on the NBC-Radio soap, “One Man's Family” (1932-50). He played Charlie's school principal on “The Edgar Bergen/Charlie McCarthy Show” (1939-56), Josh Chandler on “Dear John” (1940-44), Uncle George on “Meet Corliss Archer”, Inspector Danton on “Mystery Is My Hobby” (1947-49), and Judge Babson on “The Amazing Mr. Tutt” (1948).

Lloyd Bacon (Original Film Director Guest) was also a guest when three of his films were featured on “Screen Director’s Playhouse”: “You Were Meant For Me” (March 3, 1949), “Don’t Trust Your Husband” (September 23, 1949), and “It Happens Every Spring” (April 14, 1950).

EPISODE 

From a busy typing pool headed by Mr. Woodruff (Frank Nelson), real estate employer Dick Richmond picks the inept Ellen Grant (Lucille Ball).  He takes her back to the office and introduces her to Mr. Kilcoyne (Herb Vigran).  Dick confides in Mr. Kilcoyne that he deliberately picked Miss Grant because she looks good but is pretty dim - the perfect cover for their bookie operation!  Kilcoyne dictates to Ellen about some low cost housing.  She tells him that no one can ever dictate too fast for her.  If she misses a word, she just puts in a ‘doofer’ - something that’ll ‘do for’ now.  

Ellen calls her Uncle Ben, a judge, to tell him about her new job. While she’s on the phone Peggy Donato barges in to see Dick. In the conference room, it is clear Peggy and Dick are in a relationship.  Peggy is immediately suspicious of the new secretary.  She is unhappy when she is rebuffed by Dick.  Before leaving, she tells Ellen to give a message to Dick: Five thousand on the Flywell property at Belmont. Dick comes out of the conference room and tells Ellen that the low-cost housing project is off. 

Ellen comes into the office with her Uncle Ben. She has arranged it so that Dick can buy the low-cost housing at a discount price. Judge Ben has even brought the papers.  With no way out - Dick and Mr. Kilcoyne sign and the judge leaves. She suddenly remembers the message Peggy left for him. Alarmed, they check the papers and realize they owe Peggy fifty grand!     In the conference room, Dick and Mr. Kilcoyne conspire to make Ellen quit before they go bankrupt. To put the plan in action, Dick kisses Ellen. Indignant at his liberty, she promptly quits.  She no sooner returns and says that she will stay on to see through the low-cost housing project - but no further hanky panky will be tolerated!   The two men adjourn to the conference room!   End of Act One

A live commercial is for RCA television sets.  The pitch involves getting a set that fits the consumer’s home.   In the second part, Ellen still doesn’t realize her employers are NOT in the real estate business.  Dick has a plan to go ahead and build the houses - and skim the profits off the top to pay their debt to Peggy.  Knowing her mental acumen is not great, Dick pitches a promotion to Ellen - heading up the housing project.

As boss, Ellen starts making silly decisions that frustrate her contractors. Ellen is getting frustrated when the project starts to fall apart - physically and financially.  The project grinds to a halt. 

Dick makes the ultimate sacrifice, he humbles himself to Peggy and take her back - personally and professionally.  It isn’t long before the scheme works and the company is flush again. The conference room phone rings and it is someone looking to bet on a horse. She realizes she has been conned.  Dick returns and Ellen quits, humiliated at being duped. Kilcoyne takes her aside and tells Ellen that Dick cares for her and is looking to go straight - but can’t get out of his relationship with Peggy.  

Ellen bursts in on Peggy and Dick - gun pointed at her.  She tells Peggy that she is mother of Dick’s children - and fires a warning shot. Peggy quickly gives him up and Dick and Ellen leave together. 

In the car, Dick and Ellen. She makes it clear that she’s in charge from now on.  Miss Grant just took Richmond! 

End of Act Two

Lucille Ball and Jimmy Wallington do an RCA Victor commercial. She says she milks the cows at Chatsworth listening to her RCA record collection. 

Lucille introduces the evening’s director Lloyd Bacon.  Bacon says he started in movies 1915.  Ball extolls his talents in directing.  They bid the audience good night. 

Wallington returns to say that next week will feature “Flamingo Road” starring Joan Crawford recreating her original role.

Next up, a program featuring popular vocalist and “Jack Benny” alumnus Kenny Baker. Originally heard September 23, 1945 on CBS, we hear the Armed Forces Radio Network version where it replaced program 104 of “The Hour of Charm”. The guest on the show is harmonica virtuoso Lou Adler.  The first song is a medley of “Remember the Night” and “Cheek to Cheek”.  Kenny is backed by Robert Armbruster and His Orchestra and Chorus.  The announcer is Wendell Niles. The program was digitized from an original 16” vinyl Armed Forces Radio transcription.  The date is from the disc matrix.  I believe this is a previously uncirculated episode of the series. My thanks go out to blog listener William Harris for his donation of the disc to the collection!

Pivoting from that he helms a weekly radio show, COME TO THE SUNSHINE, focusing on “sunshine pop,” that special meld of flower powered baroque, bubblegum, folk rock, garage rock, power pop, and psychedelia rooted in 60s innovation and timeless ear candies.
